Modern characters
The character of the book is the one the information or idea is passed on for reader. That is the idea he wanted the author wanted a reader to know about. The whole book is something that is full of ideas and thoughts valuable for an author, in most cases those are thought valuable for everyone. Authors are the people with delicate souls and they sharply percept everything that surrounds them. They are able to feel and realize thing, other people are not able to realize. So, they feel like they have to share their feelings and thoughts with other people. As a rule there is a great idea contained in each novel and narrative, though it is true mostly for classic literature, and modern literature leaves much to be desired.
The main character of classic literature is always a noble person with strong foundations. Those foundations may never be neglected or ignored and the life of the main character is usually developed around those foundations. One can recollect in his memory any character of classic literature and he or she will realize that those characters people of noble nature, people who always care about those they are in love is and those who care much about them. Those are people who seldom do something that will hurt other people. Even if they do it they do it without cruel intentions.
And what can we see today? Who is the main character of books people read today? Those characters mostly people and sometimes even creatures deprived of any foundations. It is common for modern literature to praise scoundrels and women who care only about themselves and have a number of men. Can you imagine the world that consists of scoundrels and bitches only? It will be a horrible world where there will be no sympathy and humane attitude towards each other. It will be a world full of cruelty, brutality and selfishness. Such books tell people that it is only they the people they have to care about. The idea that homo homini lupus est is a common idea for nowadays.
People are thirsty nowadays for strong characters that are able to do anything they have to do in their way to their aim. People are thirsty for it and writers know it. So the characters we have in the books are something we are thirsty for and writers do nothing more than making our dreams come true. Modern literature and characters it is peculiar for is not the devaluation of moral values but the reflection of devaluation that has already happened. People lost the sense of values, they have changed everything, and they have replaced values with disvalues and live happily with it.
As you can see the literature we have today is extremely different to classic literature. The ideas of narratives and novel were changed; the characters of books were also changed. The values were replaced with disvalues; nobility was replaced with selfishness, the ability to be patient is recognized as weakness today. People say that any development has the spiral structure. It means that at first it goes up and than stops at one point and than goes down. According to values we have today it is the period of our development of going down.
