Modern literature
A number of changes occurred not only in television technologies and character, but also in the character of literature. Sure you know about e-books that are rather popular today. Most people prefer e-books before common. They read those books with the help of PPC or common cellar phones. Though, it is hard to imagine that it is convenient to read a book on the screen of one's cellar phone, people still state that it is convenient. But, the high-tech of books is not the thing of greatest importance. The thing of greatest importance is the quality of modern literature.
It was common for some years ago that there were few writers and great number of people who were thirsty for reading. Though, things are different today, and out times peculiar for great number of those who proclaim themselves as authors and for a few people who are thirsty for reading. It is also common that those whoa re still thirsty for reading books prefer classic literature before modern. No matter on the age of books of Edgar Poe, Theodor Dreiser and many other great writers, people prefer their books before those books that are written by modern writers.
Modern age is peculiar for total thirstiness for money and well-fares. People have forgotten about a number of important things and it is only money their care about. The material nowadays is predominant over spiritual. The same true for those who must be the singers of souls. But it is hard to talk about soul and moral values for those, who have neither soul nor values. In most cases people become a writers to have enough money and apply the lesser efforts it is possible. They never care about the quantity of their books.
Though, it is wrong to blame modern authors in a lack of morality ad they are the product of modern society. They are just the same with us. And so it is us who make them write novels of no value. Just imagine the most popular topics for books today are: how to become a millionaire, how to marry a millionaire, the fabulous life of celebrities, the most scandalous facts of lives of famous people and so on and so forth.
People would never write those books if there were no people who would read it. Though, the books are written and readed. As for the modern literature – it is simply awful today. There is no single book at least a bit as valuable as books of classic writers. There are no values and ideas in those books. Those books are not written in order to suggest people some high idea but in order to strike people's imagination and provoke their desire to buy a book. It is terrible but it is true and things are just like that today. It is important to change something for both writers and readers.
